All Day

I can't imagine that many of you are following the Polk murder trial out in the SF Bay area, but it's worth reading the daily news articles just to see her latest insanity. Synopsis: Susan Polk is on trial for murdering her husband. She initially denied it, but now admits that she killed him in self-defense. Her first trial ended in mistrial (or something) because her lawyer's wife was murdered in the beginning days of the trial. The articles usually make me shake my head in disbelief as she is now representing herself. And no, she has no law experience whatsoever. I think the prosecuting attorney is going to need a year-long vacation after dealing with this case or detox because I think I'd be drinking in court if I were him. Go read today's latest debacle. She might not be guilty, but she sure is a nutjob fruitcake!

Sounds like fun . . . NOT.

Sort of makes ya want to wear those white wigs they wear in court over in England . . . that might make it all make sense somehow.

Interesting post - we don't hear much about it here in the Rockies.

Ben O - I don't get in Detroit either. I go to sfgate every day to check out the Day In Pictures and it's hard not to read about that complete train wreck. I just wish Court TV were there, because I'd so be watching and laughing.

What's scary to me is that I used to drive through that town every day to go home.

Scott - I thought you lived in SF, why would you drive through Martinez? I was there for four years and don't really have a clue where it is - East Bay? South Bay?

I lived in SF for a little while, but lived in Fairfield at the end. My job was in Walnut Creek so I had to drive over the Carquinez (?) bridge to get home. At the foot of the bridge is Martinez on the south side of the water. Whenever the traffic got bad, which was almost every day, I would zig and zag through the streets of Martinez, stopping for the occasional coffee.

I've lived in at all corners of the Bay Area, and in the heart.

I haven't been following that trial but I'll check out the link after I write this comment because now I'm curious!

I'm so sorry to hear about Hattie and that devastating news. It's so sad when something like that occurs. It's so disheartening and sad. You realize how short life truly is and to embrace every moment. We always think we have so much time and in reality we don`t. It can all be gone in the blink of an eye.

Thank you so much for your caring notes and advice concerning this whole plane ticket and Green Card interview situation. Thank you also for offering your help. I might take you up on it, but you have to tell me what you'd like me to paint first;). I'm not sure what I'm doing and everything is still a mess.

Oh and the airline IS lufthansa. Sucks for me, eh? I'll just keep harassing them, something has GOT to give..right?

Thank you for being such an amazing friend!

I can't get into trials or murder or incest or rape. I can't read it or watch it. I want to live in blissful ignorance and believe the world just isn't that bad.
