Hmmm. Interesting that some of the Japanese brands pay their workers more than UAW workers get up here.
And I guarantee that $30 an hour goes a hell of a lot farther in Tennessee than it does in Michigan.
I am shocked and dissappointed in the republicans. I had always thought them to be the party of rational thought and objective reality. Idiots.
Jorge - Yes, isn't that interesting news? There's that bogus number floating around that the UAW makes $60-70/hr but that includes all benefits and legacy costs, etc., not the actual hourly wage. But people quote it ad nauseum as if it's gospel truth.
I always knew that the big number was wrong, but you tend to hear what's true around here, at least to some extent.
What surprised me was that the foreign makers actually pay more in some cases. So parity is probably not too far away.
The big difference is really cost of living. Taxes are lower pretty much everywhere else and things cost less in the south.
What I don't understand is why the automakers aren't going on the offensive.
Call these Sentors out when they come after them. Explain the truth and throw it right back in their teeth.
